I am an amateur photographer who enjoys capturing interesting subjects. I guess I focus (pun intended) mainly on landscape photography but will shoot just about anything if the opportunity arises.
Currently I am a member of the Iredell Photography Club, Charlotte Camera Club and have exibited in the Mooresville Arts Photographt competition.
I am a self-taught photographer whose passion for the lens began in childhood, surrounded by cameras at home and occasionally having photographers come to our home to take photos of us kids. His journey truly took flight in 1974 during a three-month family vacation in Europe. On route to Europe, during a stopover in Singapore, his parents surprised him with a Minolta S7 film camera—a gift that allowed him to document an incredible array of inspiring sights. From the historic castles and landmarks of England, France, and Germany to the epic mountain ranges of Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Poland. That formative trip ignited a lifelong devotion to the craft.
Rob’s extensive global travels have since provided a wealth of unique photographic opportunities, though he remains most at home capturing the natural world through landscape photography. But he is always open to any type of photography, if the opportunity presents.
One photographer I admire is Ansel Adams, his obsession with light and getting that perfect composition.
My current camera gear includes a Sony A7iv, 20mm F1.8 Prime, 24-105 F4 Zoom and a 100-400 F5.6-6.3 Zoom. He also owns a Mavic Mini drone for the occasional different perspective shots.
Rob has no formal training in photography but has consumed a lot of You Tube instructional videos.
